My work explores the interconnectedness between humanity and nature, by way of observing our relationships to each other and our environments. I am interested in the everyday life experiences that transcend time and place, such as birth, healing, death, rebirth and rituals. To communicate these ideas, organic forms in copper, stone, paper or glass transform to limbs, roots, peeled tree bark, or even skin and bones. The manipulation of material creates an ambiguity within my work to emphasize our sense of the mystery of every day and aims to illuminate the common threads that bond society.
